Cue — Privacy Policy
Cue ("the app", "we") is a private couple diary that helps two paired partners look back on their week together. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and your choices. It applies to the Cue Android app (package com.ppailab.cue) operated by PPAI Lab.
1. What we collect
- Account data — when you sign in (Google, and where available Kakao), we receive a sign-in identifier and basic profile info (display name) to create your account.
- Pairing & couple data — a pairing code and the link between you and your partner.
- Content you create in the app — diary messages, shared calendar events, anniversaries, and photos you add to the shared album. This content lives only inside the app between you and your paired partner.
- Approximate usage signals — aggregate counts/timing the weekly report is built from (e.g., how many messages, on which days/time-of-day). Raw message text is not used to build the report.
We do not access content outside the app. Cue never reads your KakaoTalk, SMS, notifications, or other apps. Analysis covers only what you write inside Cue.
2. What we do NOT collect
- No access to external messengers, notifications, contacts, SMS, or call logs.
- No precise location.
- No selling of personal data to anyone, ever.
3. Ads
- Cue shows a rewarded ad via Google AdMob when you open the weekly look-back. Watching it funds the per-report cost (report generation and hosting) so the app stays free.
- To serve ads, Google AdMob collects your device's Advertising ID and standard ad-request data, and may share it with Google's advertising network. See Google's ad policy.
- You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
4. How we use it
- To run core features: pairing, shared diary/calendar/album/anniversaries, and the D-day widget.
- To generate the weekly relationship report when both partners choose "view together". The report is built from aggregate signals only.
- To send you the optional weekly reminder notification.
- To show a rewarded ad (via Google AdMob) that funds the weekly report.
5. Service providers (data processors)
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging) — stores your account, couple data, content, and photos, and delivers notifications. Data is hosted in the
asia-northeast3 (Seoul)region. - Anthropic (Claude API) — when both partners open the weekly report, our server (Firebase Cloud Functions) sends aggregate statistics only (counts and timing — never your raw messages, photos, names, event titles, or captions) to Anthropic's model to compose the report text. Anthropic processes this on our behalf and does not use it to train models.
- Google AdMob — serves the rewarded ad and collects the Advertising ID + ad-request data for ad delivery and measurement.
6. Data sharing
Content you create is shared only with your paired partner, by design. We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers above strictly to provide the service — including the Advertising ID and ad-request data shared with Google AdMob to serve the rewarded ad — or where required by law.
7. Retention & deletion
- Your data is kept while your account exists.
- You can delete content within the app. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we will remove it from our systems.
- Backups may persist for a short period before being overwritten.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored in Google Firebase with access controlled by security rules so that only you and your paired partner can read your couple's content. API keys for the report service are kept server-side (Cloud Functions), never in the app.
9. Children
Cue is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Your rights
Depending on your region (including under GDPR and Korea's PIPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact us below.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
